The market, which has been taking place since 1410, is traditionally held on the 2nd Friday in August. Since 1988, the market has taken place at the marketplace, on L 214 between the industrial area "Layen" and the intersection Lingerhahn / Laudert. Numerous visitors, engaging entertainment, and beautiful weather are eagerly awaited not only by the community but also by the Pfalzfeld Association and all market vendors. Vendors offer everyday goods in a manageable market atmosphere, including goods from traveling merchants, charitable organizations, and hobby artists. Cool drinks, homemade bread, local sausages, and specialties from the grill ensure the well-being of the visitors.

The Pfalzfeld market has a centuries-old tradition. From Walter Reimold, we know that a marketplace has been verifiable in Pfalzfeld since the 15th century through old customs accounts. The market is said to have originally been associated with the church festival and was held on St. Maximins Day (May 29).
Later, the market took place on the day before the Corpus Christi festival.

In the school chronicles of Pfalzfeld and Norath, we find a description of market activities from the years 1894/95. The Norath chronicler, teacher Georg Zell, writes:
“No year markets are held in Norath, but there are two cattle markets in Pfalzfeld. Tents can be found there, where drinks and food are served, along with sales booths. The largest cattle market takes place on the day before the Corpus Christi festival. On this day and the following festival day, there is also a fair in Pfalzfeld. At the marketplace, which is a small half hour away from the village, there is great joy and commotion on market day starting from noon after the livestock market ends. While the elderly enjoy wine and beer in the tents, the young men and women entertain themselves with dancing. The sales booths provide for the children, and there are booths with lucky wheels for those who enjoy games. Last year, even a riding school, as people here say, brought a carousel; a novelty for the locals. People of all ages come from the nearby area to the marketplace. In the evening, led by the music, they march into the village, where in one of the two venues, the dance continues. On the second day of the fair, there will be dance music again, but this time in the other venue.”

Until the year 1908, both markets took place annually on the usual days until the community found a new arrangement for 1909, which provided for four markets. This rhythm continued until the 1920s.
Over the years, interest in the markets waned, so that in 1953 the last market took place.

In 1988, the community decided to revive the century-old market tradition after a 35-year break. It was determined that a market would be held on the old marketplace every 2nd Friday in August. Vendors offer everyday goods within a manageable market atmosphere, including goods from traveling merchants, charitable organizations, and hobby artists. Cool drinks, homemade bread, local sausages, and specialties from the grill ensure the well-being of the visitors.
