The Middle Rhine

UNESCO World Heritage Site between St. Goar and Oberwesel

Directly connected to the Rheinburgenweg, the Welterbesteig and, via ferry connections, also to the Rheinsteig opposite, the hiking enthusiast has everything he needs, Rhine romance included.

"Ich weiß nicht, was soll es bedeuten...." (Poem by Heinrich Heine)
Down in the valley, the region in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley is characterised by viticulture and the steep vineyards on which mainly Riesling is grown. The old Father Rhine meanders in between. A boat trip is a particularly good way to discover the region. From there you can see the numerous medieval castles or the legendary Loreley Rock. Sightseeing is worthwhile! The "1 million dollar view" of the Loreley plateau can be enjoyed from the "Maria Ruh" vantage point directly on the Rhine Castle Trail and the Middle Rhine Dream Loop.
The same applies to hikers and cyclists: Thanks to ferry and rail connections, varied individual day tours can be arranged along the Rhine. And nothing stands in the way of a glass of wine in one of the many restaurants.
