In the Preisbach Valley, 10 min. before the Ehrbach Valley, stands the Schönecker Steel Spring.

In the cadastral maps, the area is referred to as "Sauerbornberg." No one knows when the healing spring was discovered for the first time. It is certain,

that the local population has known the spring and its character as a healing source since ancient times and that the sick and weak, especially those with anemia and blood deficiency, have sought relief here.

Until 1912, a family named Liesenfeld based in Mermuth owned the spring. They sold the land to a company, which began commercially distributing the healing water after its healing effects were confirmed by several specialists' reports. After World War II, only ruins remained here. Years ago, the local community of Ney acquired the land. To preserve the spring, it was restructured and covered as a rest area for hikers.
