56291 Pfalzfeld

Former station on the Hunsrück railroad line to Simmern. Today on the Schinderhannesradweg.

The reception building (Mittleres Empfangsgebäude) is a little larger than on the rest of the station buildings on the Hunsrückbahn between Simmern and Boppard. The view and division of the two types of buildings is relatively small. Existing on the first floor were a service room and a waiting room. On the 1st floor was the official's apartment with 3 rooms (incl. kitchen). The attic was additionally developed as needed. The sanitary facilities were located in the stable and outbuilding. Attached to the building is a small former freight depot. For the supply of the railroad personnel living on site, there were always the famous railroad gardens. The employees were supported by the association of railroad farmers in the matter of vegetable cultivation. The same can be found in Windesheim, Argenthal, Sohren or Hirschfeld. But also at the Nahe, in Niederhausen, the building plan was applied. The station is privately owned.
