Michelfeldturm I

The Michelfeldturm I is a relatively small, almost square shell tower with a side length of 6.5 meters. It juts out on the field side about four meters in front of the wall alignment. Above the very high first floor there are three more. These have embrasures on all three sides. The individual floors were separated from each other by beamed ceilings, but connected to each other by ladder stairs. Two rectangular windows were set into the masonry of the top floor on each side, and a battlement made of a wooden construction led all around. As city views show until the early 19th century, the tower always had a roof, but it was lost afterwards. Today's roof, the tower's slating on the town side, the latticed windows and the battlement on iron girders originate from a The current roof, the windows with lattices and the battlement on iron girders are the result of a private reconstruction carried out between 1979 and 1983. The tower cannot be visited.
